Cape Wine Master

Coming from the UK and with wine visits to Spain, Germany, Chile, New Zealand, Portugal, Austria, California, Italy all of France, as well as having lived in Australia, and now South Africa, I have assessed South African wines in line with those experiences.  I am a Certified Specialist in Wine with the Society of Wine Educators, hold the Bordeaux Master Level qualification from the Wine Scholar Guild and the WSET Diploma, and became a Cape Wine Master in 2012. I lecture for the Cape Wine Academy, am a wine judge for the IWSC, Veritas Awards and the Gold Wine Awards, and write for www.wine.co.za.

A wine that has achieved above, say, 90 points in the Stellenbosch Wine Review would, I believe, achieve the same in any other country or competition internationally.  All wine reviews and scores are as objective as possible, that is the challenge and beauty of wine, but not being in the industry or in any way connected with producers, agencies or marketing companies, I believe I can bring a reasonably objective and qualified opinion to the Review.

The Stellenbosch Wine Review allows you to compare recent vintages of the same wine and gives a brief description of the latest vintage.
